The floating salt mine

New nickaname for the boat. Stefan called it the floating salt mine. For that  he got 20 minutes in the pit of sh*t, AKA the aft locker. Such disrespect.

He crwawled in to access the starboard 4 bolts that hold the new dingy arch. He had to cozy up to the aft holding tank to get it done.

A tight fit.

I did the port side bolts and the arch was starting to take shape.

We then riveted the leg extensions on. Then we attached the davits and support arms,  which was tricky as we had to stretch out over the back of the boat. We should have assembled them on the dock first.

It took a lot of time in part to the fact that the cordless drill left on board only runs 15 min on a full charge. We perservered and wrapped up work at 1 pm. Neil and Lavonne dropped by to check on our progress. I think Lavonne needed some quality time with our AC unit.

A breif boat tour and then it was time for a cervaza and a siesta.

Here is a picture of the final product. Looks good and super strong.

Neil suggested I start a spin the wheel game. I can label the squares, sail, salt mine, beach day, ect. I responded a good idea but it cuts into productivity as most days have been work the salt mine.

Anyway good progress was made.
